Just upriver from  Lockaby and Armstrong campgrounds, Roaring River Campground is a small campground between two rivers. Though the Clackamas River runs on the opposite side of the highway, the Roaring River runs adjacent to some of the sites, which allows a visitor to enjoy the sounds of both rivers.

Several walk-in, tent-only sites are available as well as sites that can accommodate an RV up to 16 feet. Each campsite is equipped with a campfire ring with grill and a table, and each has access to potable water, vault toilets, and firewood for purchase at the campground. If you are visiting the Wild and Scenic Clackamas River, designated in 1988, it's worth spending the day enjoying the area's popular recreation activities.  The campsites are heavily shaded and can remain damp.

Anglers may be pleased with a catch of cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, brook trout, steelhead or Chinook salmon. Hikers and mountain bikers will enjoy miles of riverside trail, and those who prefer to be on the river can take advantage of 12.5 miles of Class III to Class IV whitewater between Indian Henry Campground and the North Fork Reservoir.

Note: Roaring River Campground is open May 24 through September 8.
