With its adjacency to I-5, camping at Paradise Point State Park certainly won't be the most pristine overnight outdoor excursion available to those living in the Portland Metro Area. Its proximity to the city surely makes it convenient, however, and if you are willing to walk a few hundred yards to the campground's nine walk-in campsites, you will find a fair portion of a quiet, natural environment.

In total, the campground features 18 full hook-up RV sites, 49 car and tent sites, nine walk-in sites, and two yurts. Specifically, the yurts feature bunk bed sleeping for three people plus a futon couch that sleeps two people. You'll also find heating, lights, and an electrical outlet. And, for the yurts, bringing your own small portable table and chairs can add some extra comfort.

From the campground, it's only a short walk down the Paradise Point Trail System to the East Fork of the Lewis River (with a great swimming hole under freeway), the park's day use picnic area, and its 9-hole disc golf course.

Note: Paradise Point State Park Campground is open year round.
